See Disney for Free

One of the mainstay vacation destinations in Florida is Disney World in Orlando, especially if you have kids. However, we know that getting into this Disney theme park is not always affordable, which is why we are super excited to tell you about a really great Disney deal.

If you plan to be in the Fort Lauderdale or Orlando area for spring break and want to visit Disney World, we recommend that you check out Disney’s “Give a Day. Get a Disney Day” program, in partnership with the HandsOn Network. By donating your time to an approved charitable organization, Disney offers each volunteer (while supplies last) a free ticket to one Disney theme park!

Whether you plan to be in Orlando, FL already or are willing to make the three-hour drive in your car rental in Fort Lauderdale, this deal is too good to pass up. We recommend that you go to Disney’s website for all the official rules and information; however, here is the gist of how it works:

  • Go to the Disney website’s “Give a Day. Get a Disney Day.” page and read all the information about this great program.
  • Search for approved volunteer opportunities in your area. You can find everything from making and donating blankets to serving at your local homeless shelter.
  • Select the volunteer opportunity that you or your group want to partner with. Be sure to take note of the date of the volunteer opportunity, allowing yourself plenty of time before you leave for your trip to complete your community service and receive your Disney ticket voucher.
  • Be sure to create your own account on the Disney “Give a Day” site; otherwise, your volunteer activity cannot be recorded. You should get an email explaining how to do this; if not, you may want to get more details about how the “Give a Day” program works.
  • Give a day! You will complete the volunteer activity you selected, and the organization will report your activity to Disney and the HandsOn Network. You may need to allow for up to two weeks for your volunteerism to be marked as complete.
  • Get your free Disney ticket. After you complete your service and the organization has reported it, you should receive a voucher to redeem a Disney ticket good for one day at one theme park.

Even if you have to drive a few hours in a Fort Lauderdale cheap car rental to get to Disney, your family cannot afford to pass up this offer. Plus, what we love about this good deal is that through this program, Disney aims to promote community involvement and volunteerism, so you not only get a free Disney Day but are also able to make a difference where you live—a great deal for everyone.
