Over the last month or two, you may have read some of our posts about things to do and see in the Anchorage, Alaska area. However, you may be wondering how you can wind down after your day filled with hiking, fishing, cross-country skiing, and the like. Most likely, you will be ready for some good food, indoor fun, and entertainment.

What does Anchorage’s nightlife scene have to offer you? Well, whether you are looking for some smooth jazz to great food and drinks, you will want to discover Anchorage at night.

Most likely, you don’t want to cook every meal in your Alaska RV rental. So, here’s a short list of nighttime attractions (please note that most of the nighttime attractions noted here are for adults 21 and over, with the exception of Bear Tooth):

  • Club Paris – toted to be one of Anchorage’s finest, this bar is known for its quiet, jazzy feel as well as its trendy French atmosphere. So, if you are looking for a romantic night out, Club Paris may be the place. Club Paris is open until midnight Monday through Sunday and is located in downtown Anchorage.
  • Bear Tooth Grill & Theatre Pub – do you enjoy movies, a great deal, and top-notch service? Then, Bear Tooth is your place. Located in midtown Anchorage, Alaska, this attraction features $2 movies and to-your-seat drink service, so you can sip a margarita while taking in a flick. Plus, this restaurant has an Under 21 area where kids can eat and enjoy the movie. A great choice for families!
  • Blues Central – if you don’t mind the smoky atmosphere, Blues Central is a great place in midtown Anchorage, AK to go for live music and good drinks. On the weekend, this bar has a 100-seat venue that features both out-of-town and hometown artists. And if you’re in Alaska in June, Blues Central hosts a very popular blues festival that you might want to check out.
  • Chilkoot Charlie’s – an Anchorage mainstay, “Koots” (as it’s called by locals) is a nine-section bar that has two stages for nightly live music and three dance floors. Featured bands vary greatly in style from night to night. For a quieter atmosphere, Koots’ main bar is where you will want to hang out, enjoy a drink, and take in an old black-and-white movie.

And these are just a few of Anchorage’s nightlife attractions! So while you may want to stay in your motorhome rental Alaska and play cards a night or two during your AK vacation, be sure to get out and experience Anchorage after dark. You’ll be glad you did!
