There are a bunch of late afternoon/early evening activities throughout Broward County that the whole family can enjoy, regardless of age. If you enjoy sports and you’re in town during a home game, you can try to catch a Florida Marlin’s or Miami Dolphin’s game in Pompano Beach. If shopping’s more your style, you can visit Sawgrass Mills, a popular mall in Sunrise,FL, which is just outside of Fort Lauderdale. You could also see what bands are scheduled to perform at the Pompano Beach Amphitheater, an open-air theater, or, if you’re looking to enjoy a little more local flavor, you can check out the “Music Under the Stars” Free Summer Concerts Series. The concerts are held on Pompano Beach’s Main Beach and are completely free to the public; each concert features local musicians performing a wide variety of music, and they usually start at 7 p.m. and end around 9 p.m., making them ideal for an enjoyable and kid-friendly end to your day.

Maybe a late night out on the town is more your speed – don’t worry, there are tons of nightclubs, bars, comedy clubs, and evening shows in the area. Looking to get dressed up and go out for a romantic evening? You’ll definitely want to see what shows are scheduled at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts! Before the show, make a reservation at Johnny V, a restaurant and lounge that was voted the 2008 best fine dining restaurant in the area by the DiningGuide dotcom network. Johnny V serves regional American food with a Carribbean and Latin twist, and is located right on the water in Fort Lauderdale.

If you’re looking for a little more casual fun on your night out, Broward County is also home to a great many bars and restaurants, ranging from relaxed, sporty beach bars to sophisticated lounges and energetic dance clubs throughout the area.
